Bulldog Golf Closes Day One in Fifth Place

Louisiana Tech ended day one five under with one hole left to play due to lightning.

JUPITER, FL – The Bulldog golf team ended the first day of the Florida Atlantic Invitational in fifth place with a team total of -5 (728). Play for round two was delayed to tomorrow (Sept 22) due to lightning. Abel Derksen will close the round with hole nine.

The 'Dogs closed round one tied in first place (357), shooting eight under par. Aidan Tudor, Morton Bailey, and Reda El Hali all shot under par, with scores of -4, -3, and -2, respectively. Tudor and Bailey each ended with five birdies. Tudor ended round one tied for second place in the entire tournament.

The newcomer El Hali was a standout in round two, jumping up five spots on the leaderboard, now tied for sixth. He shot -3, with six birdies. Tudor maintained a top five spot after shooting two under. He shot three birdies and an eagle on hole eight.

The Bulldogs head into Derksen's last hole of round two tomorrow behind North Florida (-18), Florida Atlantic (-18), Stetson (-15), and Lipscomb (-10). Round three is set to start at 7:30 a.m.
