Louisiana Tech Golf Finishes Florida Atlantic Invitational in Seventh

Bulldogs could not overcome deficit and fell two spots.

JUPITER, FL – Louisiana Tech men's golf closed its first tournament of the 2026-27 season in seventh after round three struggle.

Morton Bailey led the way for the 'Dogs, shooting a -4 on the day and finishing the tournament tied for fifteenth. Over the course of the round, he shot five birdies, and only one bogey. His four under par is tied for the second best score of the day across the entire tournament.

Abel Derksen shot a +1, tied for his best round this tournament, finishing tied for 54th. From holes 6-17, he shot two birdies and ten pars. Oskari Schuvalow shot his best score of the tournament, a +2, landing him at 62nd at the end.

Aidan Tudor shot a +3. Despite this, his scores in the first two rounds, -4 and -2, gave him a score high enough to end tied for 20th. Reda El Hali had a similar pattern. His best two rounds were one and two, shooting a -2 and -3 respectively. In round three he shot a +4. He ended tied for 28th.

Florida Atlantic won the tournament, shooting a -27, followed by North Florida (-26), Stetson (-23), Lipscomb (-11), and UCF (-6) rounding out the top five.

Louisiana Tech returns to Ruston to host the fourth annual Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek Country Club next Sunday – Tuesday.
