Preview: LA Tech at ULM Warhawk Invitational

The Bulldogs look to build off a strong season-opening performance in their final in-state meet of the regular season slate.
RUSTON -- The Louisiana Tech men's and women's cross country returns to the starting line for their second competition of the 2026 season, traveling to Sterlington, Louisiana to compete in the Warhawk Invitational hosted by ULM on Friday, September 25. The women will run the 5k beginning at 6:15 p.m. CT, while the men will also run the 5k starting at 6:45 p.m. CT.

LOCATION: Sterlington, La. (Sterlington Sports Complex)
Friday's meet will be the Bulldogs' second competition of the season after taking the course at the NSU Demon Invitational on September 11. LA Tech saw several strong performances in the season opener, including a first-place finish from freshman Kaitlyn Sawyer in her collegiate debut and a runner-up finish from Joshua Daulton on the men's side.
Sawyer will work to continue her impressive start of the season into Friday's 5k, while Delany Lopez, Bailey Springer, Reece Knowlton, and Brooke Fontenot will be joining her as major contributors. They all finished among LA Tech's top performers at the Demon Invitational.
The men's team features a competitive group of standout runners, including Daulton, Brayden Vining, Kaleb Weber, Grayson Smith, Zane Daniel, and Dillon Sanchez, who each delivered strong results at the Demon Invitational. With strong showings from both the men's and women's teams, the Bulldogs look to build on that momentum at ULM.
