Former Lady Techster great Kiva Gresham begins her sixth year with the soccer program after returning to Ruston as an assistant coach for Kevin Sherry midway through the 2012 season.
Gresham's main responsibility is assisting with the development of the midfielders and strikers while also teaming with fellow assistant Josh Wagenaar in overseeing fitness and conditioning for the squad.
This past season, Gresham was instrumental in coaching striker Kathryn Sloan who became the first Lady Techster in program history to be named First Team All-Conference USA. Not only was she one of only three forwards selected first team, she was also named the Louisiana Player of the Year for the second time in her career as she finished her career as the all-time leader in career points, goals and shots.
During her playing career, Gresham was a star forward for four years (2007-10) at LA Tech. She still holds the single season record for most points (32) and is tied for most assists (eight). She also ranks in the top three in career goals (27), assists (20) and points (74).
Head coach Kevin Sherry is quick to call Gresham the best soccer player to ever play at LA Tech since its inception in 2004.
Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gresham has taken her love for the international sport and gone to the Caribbean where she participated in a coaching class in Trinidad and Tobago.
Gresham was also selected as one of the lead instructors for the EXACT Soccer Elite Prospect Camp. This unique college soccer camp provided players with the opportunity to showcase individual field skills and their mental readiness.
Gresham joined other top instructors from NCAA programs such as North Carolina, Stephen F. Austin, Abilene Christian, Illinois, Dallas Baptist, Schreiner, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas-Brownsville and St. Mary's (Texas).
