Louisiana Tech falls to 4-4 all time against Southeastern Louisiana.
RUSTON – Louisiana Tech suffered a 5-1 loss to Southeastern Louisiana Sunday evening at Robert Mack Caruthers Field. The Lions held just a 1-0 lead at halftime before scoring three second-half goals to put the contest out of reach.
SLU (1-1-0) opened the scoring affair in the early moments of the 29th minute despite being held to just six attempts in the first half of play. After posting 12 first-half shots in their season opener, the 'Dogs (0-1-1) were held to just three shots in the first 45 minutes and six total shots over the course of Sunday's match.
The Lions wasted no time building a lead coming out of the break, scoring a swift pair of goals in the opening three minutes of the second half before extending to a four-score advantage in the 60th minute.
Later on in the 74th minute, Madison Pensom knocked a header in the back of the net on a cross from Reagan Roberts to cut SLU's advantage to three scores, but the Lions immediately responded less than a minute later with their fifth goal of the evening.
The Bulldogs conclude their season-opening three-match homestand on Thursday, August 20 when they host the Lamar Cardinals. First touch of the contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. Live stream will be available on ESPN+ and live stats can be found at LATechSports.com/stats.
