NEW ORLEANS - The Louisiana Tech Bulldog outdoor track and field team was picked fourth in the Sun Belt Conference Pre-Championship Coaches Poll while the Lady Techsters were tabbed sixth for this weekend's event at Tad Gormley Stadium.

Head Coach Gary Stanley's men received 69 points to trail only Middle Tennessee (96), Arkansas State (83) and North Texas (76) in the poll. Senior Ahville Black has recorded the top marks in the conference in the discus and shot put and will lead the Bulldogs this weekend.

The Lady Techsters received 71 points and rank sixth behind Middle Tennessee (115), Florida International (113), Arkansas State (98), South Alabama (74) and New Mexico State (73) in the balloting.

The meet is scheduled for May 11-13 and will mark the final SBC competition for the Louisiana Tech track team.
