Tennis Falls In Pair of Weekend Matches
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Louisiana Tech dropped a pair of tennis matches over the weekend as the Techsters fell 5-2 to Arkansas-Little Rock and 4-2 to Indiana State.
Tech is now 7-6 on the season.
Saharai Uriarte and Monica Kelly picked up wins against UALR in No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively, but those would be the only points Tech would score in that match.
Kelly teamed with Avril Martinez for a 8-4 win in No. 1 doubles, but that would be Tech's only tandem win against the Trojans, who took the No. 2 and No. 3 matches to take the doubles point.
Tech and Indiana State started with singles play on Sunday due to incoming rain and the Sycamores' dominance made doubles play pointless.
Louisiana Tech's only points against Indiana State came in No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Anabella Duque won the No. 5 match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Magda Faferek while Avril Martinez took the No. 6 match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Imane Lahlou.
