LORMAN, Miss. ? Louisiana Tech banged out 19 hits in an 11-8 win over Alcorn State in the second game of a doubleheader sweep by the Lady Techsters Wednesday afternoon in Mississippi.

Tech (13-8) defeated Alcorn State 5-3 in game No. 1 of the day as it improved to 5-0 on the season against the Lady Braves, who had knocked off Top 10 UL-Lafayette 5-4 less than a week ago.

Freshman shortstop Amberly Waits led Tech?s offensive attack in the 11-8 win, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI while teammate Carly White was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI.

Kylie Bassett (1-0) picked up the win in relief, hurling 4.1 scoreless innings while allowing five hits and one walk. Starting pitcher Courtney Avery allowed only one earned run in 2.1 innings of action, but three errors by Louisiana Tech in the bottom of the third inning allowed seven unearned runs to score and forced Avery from the game.
