FRESNO -- Louisiana Tech failed to score a run as the Lady Techsters fell twice to Fresno State Saturday in Western Athletic Conference softball action 4-0 and 8-0 at Bulldog Diamond.

In game No. 1 of the day, both Fresno State (39-16, 12-3 WAC) and Louisiana Tech (20-33, 3-12 WAC) registered seven hits each but the Bulldogs turned their base knocks into runs in downing Tech 4-0.

The game was tight throughout with Fresno State leading 1-0 before scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away for the victory.

Krissi Oliver (15-23) picked up the loss for Tech, allowing four earned runs on six hits and one walk in 5.1 innings of action before Mandi Bertsch came on to register the final two outs of the sixth frame.

Emma Barnes led Tech with two hits each.

In the second game of the day, Fresno State scored twice in the first, four times in the third and twice more in the fourth in the five-inning win over Tech.

Barnes, Danielle Sheridan and Jessica Kirby each registered one hit for Tech. Bertsch (4-8) picked up the loss, allowing eight runs -- seven earned -- on nine hits in 4.0 innings of action.

Tech returns to action Wednesday at Northwestern State at 6 p.m.
