BATON ROUGE--The Louisiana Tech bowling team recorded an impressive showing this weekend with a third place finish at the SWAC Round-Up.
Despite facing a tough field that included three top 15 ranked teams in No. 11 Alabama A&M, No. 12 Southern University and No. 14 Jackson State, the Techsters were still able to finish the weekend with a 10-3 record and a third place finish.
"I'm very pleased with the entire team this weekend," Tech head coach Shawn Jackson said. "It was a complete team effort. It's big for a young team like ours to have such a good showing in this tournament."
The most impressive win out of the ten may have been when the Techsters took down No. 14 ranked Jackson State on day two of the tournament.
The only losses for the Techsters in the tournament came on day two when they finished the day 2-3. However, the team finished day one and three with perfect 4-0 records.
"We only had one glitch and that was on day two," Jackson said. "Other than that it was an outstanding tournament for us. We are off until Thanksgiving now and we are excited to get into the second half of the season."
Louisiana Tech returns to action Nov. 29 when they head to Houston, Texas for the Texas Southern University Tiger Classic.
