LIHUE, Kauai -- After a solid opening round, Louisiana Tech slid in day No. 2 of the 2008 Kauai Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of Hawaii at Puakea Golf Course as the Bulldogs sit in 11th place heading into Wednesday's final round.
Tech shot a second-round team total of five-over-par 293; however, nine of the 14-teams competing in the tournament shot in red numbers as the Bulldogs slid four spots in the standings after being tied for seventh after Monday's first round.
Freshman Cody Santone led Tech in Tuesday's round with a one-under-par 71 and currently sits in a tie for 21st place. Junior Matthew Harvey followed his opening round two-under-par 70 with a 75 on Tuesday and is now tied for 32nd place.
Clinton Shepard is tied for 37th place with back-to-back 73s while Amrith de Soysa sits in 52nd place after back-to-back 74s.
Ryan Robertson, who is playing as an individual in the competition, followed his opening round 75 with a 77 and is in a tie for 59th place. Corey Bartlett sits in a tie for 69th place after a two-round total of 154.
San Diego shot a team total of 21-under-par 267 in Tuesday's second round and currently leads the event by nine strokes over Drake (562). The rest of the standings include San Jose State (565), Utah (569), UNC-Wilmington (569), James Madison (572), San Francisco (573), Loyola Marymount (575), Gonzaga (575), Boise State (578), Louisiana Tech (582), Hawaii (583), UC Riverside (586) and Osaka Gakuin (601).
The three-day tournament held will conclude Wednesday.
