Final Results

LUHIE, Kauai -- Louisiana Tech junior Matthew Harvey shot a final round seven-under-par 65 to lead the Bulldogs to an eighth-place finish at the 2008 Kauai Collegiate Invite at Paukea Golf Course Wednesday.

As a team Tech shot a final round 11-under-par 277, its best score of the fall season as the Bulldogs closed out their fall schedule in positive fashion.

Harvey's 65 was the second best score of the final round as UNC-Wilmington's Derek Wallace won the individual competition with a final round 64 and a three-round total of 15-under-par 201. Harvey, who was sitting in 32nd place heading into the round, finished tied for 10th with a three-round total of six-under-par 210.

Harvey wasn't the only Bulldog who played well in the final round as the Bulldogs team total of 277 for the final 18 holes was third best in the 14-team competition.

Sophomore Clinton Shepard shot a final round 69 and finished in a four-way tie for 29th overall with a three-round total of one-under-par 215. One of the three individuals Shepard was tied with at 29th was teammate Cody Santone who also finished with a total of 215.

Seniors Corey Bartlett and Amrith de Soysa also played well over the final 18 holes of the event. Bartlett shot a one-under-par 71 and finished alone in 59th position with a three-round total of nine-over-par 225 while de Soysa shot a 73 on Wednesday and finished in a tie for 47th with a total of five-over-par 221.

Senior Ryan Robertson, who was competing as an individual at the event, shot a final round 75 and finished in 65th place.

Tech will begin the spring season Feb. 23 at the All-American Golf Classic in Spring, Texas.
