RUSTON - Sophomore softballer Amberly Waits is this week's Latechsports.com Athlete of the Week following her performance in the Lady Techsters eight games.

Waits batted .520 on the week with 13 hits in 25 at bats while registering four doubles, one triple and one home run. She scored five runs, drove in six and was a perfect 6-of-6 on stolen bases.

Waits registered a .586 on-base percentage and a .880 slugging percentage during the week while recording at least one hit in 7 of the 8 games. She totaled four multi-hit games during the week (3 vs. Belmont, 3 vs. SFA, 2 vs. Jacksonville State and 2 vs. Alcorn State).

Her 2-run home run against SFA proved to be the difference in the one-run win. Waits helped Louisiana Tech to a 3-2 mark at the Ole Miss Red & Blue Classic, finishing third out of six teams.
