SPRING, Texas -- Louisiana Tech's overall score of 920 was good enough for 11th place at the All-American Intercollegiate Classic Monday and Tuesday, but it certainly wasn't good enough for head coach Dr. Jean Hall.
"This certainly wasn't out best effort," Hall said. "We're going back to work to see if we can make it better before our next event."
Tech's 920 came after shooting 305 in the first round, 301 in the second and 314 in the third and final round Tuesday morning at the Traditions Course at the Cypresswood Golf Club. Bulldog freshman Patrick Blunt had Tech's best finish of the tournament after shooting 224 total (72+76+76) to tie for 19th place overall.
"Patrick had a nice tournament overall," Hall added. "He showed steady play throughout the tournament."
Besides Blunt's performance, sophomore Clinton Shepard (77+75+79) finished tied for 42nd, while both sophomore Ben Suarez (76+76+82=234) and junior Matthew Harvey (81+74+79=234) both tied for fiftieth. Senior Ryan Robertson (80+76+80=236) rounded out Tech's finishers tied for 59th place.
Southeastern was the overall team winner after totaling 874 (297+286+291) while Middle Tennessee's Kent Bulle (67+69+73=209) was the individual winner.
Tech returns to action Monday, March 9, at the Louisiana Classics Invitational in Lafayette, La.
