LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs totaled 914 Monday and Tuesday for a 13th place finish in the UALR/First Tee Collegiate at the par-72, 7,221-yard Bear Den Course at Chenal Country Country among 16 total teams.
"We had a couple of good scores," Tech head coach Dr. Jean Hall said. "Cody Santone shot 71 on the second day and played a good round. Matt Harvey posted a 72. The second round as a team we didn't too poorly, but I was still disappointed overall. Anytime there's anything that's significantly different, whether it be rain or wind, we just have a hard time adjusting."
The rain made its presence known Monday night causing a wet course for the final round, when the Bulldogs shot their worst overall round of the tournament. For the tournament, the Bulldogs went 304 and 297 Monday and 313 Tuesday.
Harvey (72-75-78=225) and Santone (75-71-79=225) both finished tied for 27th, while freshmen Jonathan Bale (79-77-76=232) and Patrick Blunt (78-74-80=232) tied for 60th. Senior Corey Bartlett (79-78-81=238) rounded out Tech's finshers for 78th overall.
Lamar won the team championship, while Central Arkansas's Gideon Pienaar took home the individual title.
The Bulldogs return to action Monday, April 6, at the Mississippi Intercollegiate Golf Invitational in the final match before the WAC Championships.
