RUSTON, La. - After a month long hiatus, the Louisiana Tech bowling team returns to action this weekend as the Techsters travel to Cabot, Arkansas to take part in the Mid-Winter Classic.
The 20th-ranked Lady Techsters will be challenged with a difficult 15-team field that includes 11 of the top-20 teams in the land according to the National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll. Four of the top six teams will be present in Arkansas including top-ranked Maryland Eastern Shore.
Tech posted a 27-17 record during the fall season as junior Houston Granger paced the squad with a 189.1 pinfall average. Her current 233 season-high is 22 pins higher than the next Techster bowler. Kayla Ghersini is consistently dropping 175 pins per singles match, ranking second on the team.
After this weekend, the Techsters will return to action Feb. 5 at the Bearkat Invite in Huntsville, Texas.
