RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech signee Kay Rawls, a soon-to-be Central High School graduate, has been selected to the 2010-2011 Dexter/United States Bowling Coaches (USBC) High School All-American Team.
She is one of only five girls throughout the nation to receive the honor this year.
Rawls earned the honor behind her outstanding play this past year as her highest sanctioned game was a 289 while her highest sanctioned series was a 723. She also bowled a 736 in Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) competition while becoming the first LHSAA Individual Girls Champion in 2010.
The Greenwell Spring, La. native joins the LA Tech bowling team this fall. She is a two-time LHSAA 4A-5A Girls' Most Valuable Player for Central High School and maintained an average in the mid-190s in every league as well as high school competition during the 2010-2011 season.
Rawls will receive an All-American Team award during a presentation/dinner on July 15th in Las Vegas, Nev., where she will be competing in the Junior Gold Tournament.
