Bulldog Golfers at Rice Invitational

HOUSTON - Louisiana Tech will compete in its second event of the spring season as Jeff Parks and the Bulldog golfers participate in the 2012 Rice Intercollegiate at Westwood Golf Club Monday and Tuesday.

The 15-team event includes Air Force, Florida Gulf Coast, Houston Baptist, Houston, Kansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Missouri State, Northwestern, New Mexico State, Rice, Texas State, UTSA, Winthrop and Wichita State.

The 54-hole tournament begins Monday morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start and will include 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

LA Tech will be represented by its five-man team consisting of Jack Lempke, Travis Wilmore, Jonathan Bale, Sam Forgan and Cody Blankenship. Freshman Chandler Vilcheck will also compete as an individual in the tournament.

Tech finished 7th last week in the highly-competitive 15-team UTSA Oak Hills Invitational.
