RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech tennis team returns to action after a 13-day break as the Lady Techsters travel to face Xaiver University of New Orleans on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Nicholls State at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Tech enters the weekend with a 7-3 records having won four of their last five matches.
Junior Alena Erofeyeva is 10-0 in singles matches in the spring and has won her last to two in the No. 4 position.
Senior Elne Barnard is 8-2 on the year with six of her victories coming at the No. 3 spot.
The doubles team of senior Anna Zurek and Barnard has played in all of the spring matches and has compiled a 6-4 mark. Senior Maartje de Wit and junior Vivian ten Dolle have won five consecutive matches together and are 6-1 in the spring.
Xavier is an NAIA school that is 2-13 overall and 1-4 at home. The Gold Nuggets have lost four straight matches going into the weekend.
Nicholls State will enter Sunday with a 5-7 record including wins over Xavier (La.) and Southeastern Louisiana earlier in the week.
Marie Aubert and Parija Maloo are both 10-2 in the spring. All of Maloo's matches have taken place at the No. 1 position while Aubert is 4-0 at the No. 4 spot.
The duo of Janna Leeuwerik and Maloo has won three straight doubles competitions and are 8-2 on the year.
