Oct. 24, 2014 RUSTON - The Louisiana Tech men's and women's basketball teams will tip off the 2014-15 in exciting fashion on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at the annual Tech Madness.
This year's event will be back in the Thomas Assembly Center after a one-year hiatus of it being in Scotty Robertson Memorial Gymnasium due to the construction of the Paul Millsap Vision video board last fall.
Admission is free to all fans with everyone getting a chance to meet this year's Bulldog and Lady Techster teams who will be introduced to the crowd.
The Band of Pride, Champ, Regal Blues and cheerleaders will all be on hand to perform.
Following remarks from both head coaches, Michael White and Tyler Summitt, a shooting competition will take place with one player from each team, a student and a faculty member participating.
The much-anticipated dunk contest will ensue where reigning Dunkin' Dog champion Raheem Appleby will try to retain his crown.
The women and men each will take part in a 10-minute scrimmage to close out the night. Fans wishing to stay afterwards can watch the Bulldogs during an open practice.
The Lady Techsters will be made up of a five-member senior class, led by preseason all-conference forward Whitney Frazier, and a new coaching staff led by first year head coach Tyler Summitt.
The C-USA preseason favorite Bulldogs return four starters from last year's squad that, for the second straight season, earned a conference regular season title.
LA Tech fans will also have an opportunity to purchase their season tickets with Select-A-Seat open seats which will be tagged.
Season tickets can also be purchased by calling (318) 257-3631 or emailing techtickets@latech.edu.
