@LATechGolf Drops to 14th at Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational

VERO BEACH, Fla. - Senior Ben Robinson carded a team-best even-par 72 and rose to a tie for 47th as action concluded at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational in Vero Beach, Florida Tuesday afternoon.

Overall, Louisiana Tech finished 14th at 32-over-par (296-296-304=896) in the three-round tournament finishing five strokes behind Conference USA foe Rice (+27) and three strokes ahead of South Dakota State (+35).

North Texas won the tiebreaker over Michigan State for the team title with a 16-under-par 848 tournament score while North Carolina State (-12) finished third.

The Mean Green's Thomas Rosemueller won the individual title at 12-under-par while Jacksonville's Franck Medlae and Memphis' Lars Van Meijel tied for second individually at 10-under-par.

Robinson's even-par round Tuesday marked the best round of the tournament for the senior and the best round of the day for the Bulldogs. He finished the tournament at 7-over-par (74-77-72=223) overall.

Freshman Hunter Glenn finished behind Robinson at tied for 53rd after carding a tournament score of 9-over-par 225. Glenn was even-keel with a pair of even-par 72 rounds Monday but struggled in the final round with a 9-over-par 81 performance Tuesday.

Chuck Spears also struggled Tuesday with an 8-over-par 80 round, finishing tied for 61st overall with an 11-over-par tournament score (73-74-80=227).

Freshman Luke Neely carded a 3-over-par 75 to mark Tech's second-best round of the day while Jake Pritchard was 5-over-par 77.

The Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational concluded the fall season for the Bulldogs. LA Tech's next tournament will be the Oak Hills Invitational hosted by Conference USA member UTSA in San Antonio, Texas on Feb. 8-9, 2016.
