RUSTON - Louisiana Tech will put its three-game winning streak on the line Tuesday night when the Lady Techster softball team travels south to face 16th ranked and undefeated LSU at Tiger Park.
The game is set for a 6 p.m. start time and fans can watch it online on the SEC Network Plus with Garrett Walvoord providing the call of the game.
Head coach Mark Montgomery's Lady Techsters (6-4) have won six of their last eight games since opening the season with a pair of losses in their first two games. Tech posted a 3-1 mark this past weekend in Starkville, including wins over Lamar (13-11, 8 innings), UT Martin (7-3) and Illinois (3-2).
Offensively, the Lady Techsters top run producers have been Krysta Tutsch (.375, 4 HR, 12 RB), Bianca Duran (.276, 2 HR, 10 RBI), and Anna Cross (.303, 7 RBI, 6-6 SB). Tori Charters (.320, 7 runs), Karlee Jensen (.308, 6 runs), Pauline Tufi (.259, 1 HR, 5 RBI) and Kassie Harris (.242, 4 runs, 5 RBI) have also been key contributors at the plate.
In the circle, LA Tech is relying on Duran (3-4, 4.62 ERA), Tufi (1-0, 3.38 ERA, 2 saves) and Carolina Sanchez (2-0, 2.33 ERA) and all three could see action against the Tigers.
LSU (10-0) enters the game with a perfect record and an impressive resume. In their 10 wins, LSU has outscored its opponents 63-8 while playing almost flawless softball. LSU sports an impressive .346 team batting average led by Bianka Bell (.515, 5 HR, 16 RBI), Bailey Landry (.483, 10 runs), and Sandra Simmons (.385, 6 RBI).
In the circle, LSU boasts four arms that have all been overpowering early in the season. Kelsee Selmen (2-0, 0.00 ERA), Allie Walljasper (3-0, 0.30 ERA), Carley Hoover (2-0, 1.40 ERA) and Baylee Corbello (3-0, 1.65 ERA) have combined to allow only 37 hits in 65 innings of action.
