RUSTON - Future Louisiana Tech Lady Techster and current Western Nebraska star Jessica Ball was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Player of the Week following her performance in her teams 10 games during the week.

Ball collected 19 hits in 36 at bats for a .528 batting average along with five doubles, four triples and two home runs. The Western Nebraska shortstop scored 15 runs and registered 16 RBI on the week while adding seven stolen bases to lead her team to a 7-3 record.

The Thornton, Colorado native led the nation in home runs (25) and total bases (206) and was third in RBI (88) while earning third team all-American honors as a freshman. She was named the Region IX Player of the Year as a rookie.

Ball is one of seven newcomers joining head coach Mark Montgomery and the Lady Techster program next season.
