Preview: LA Tech vs. FIU

Bulldogs eye fourth CUSA series win

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech returns to Dr. Billy Bundrick Field to open a six-game Conference USA homestand, hosting FIU in a three-game series beginning Friday at 6 p.m. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.

Series History: FIU leads, 15-10
 
This will be the 26th all-time meeting between the Bulldogs and Panthers. FIU leads the all-time series 15-10 after taking two of three from Tech last year in Miami. FIU won the first two games of the series while LA Tech claimed a 5-4 win in the finale. The Bulldogs are 6-3 at home against the Panthers and 9-13 against them in CUSA play.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
 
LA Tech moved to 21-19 (7-8 Conference USA) after falling on the road 3-1 to ULM on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs were outhit 8-6 in the loss with all six hits going for singles. Allie Furr led the team with two hits and came around to score Tech's lone run on an RBI single from Reagan Marchant.
 
Furr, who is in the mists of a 10-game hit streak now shared the team lead in hits with Elena Heng (47). Bradi Gallaway sits one hit away from 40 with 39, while Aleah Brooks has 35 hits, followed by Reagan Marchant's 31.
 
Gallaway leads the team in RBI (36) and runs scored (26), while her nine homers rank second on the team. Marchant leads the team with 11 long balls and ranks second with 35 runs driven in.
 
Allie Floyd took the loss in the circle against ULM and moves to 9-12 on the season. Floyd continues to pace LA Tech in wins, innings pitched (113.2), strikeouts (88), complete games (9) and shutouts (2).
 
Laney Johnson and Bryannah Campos have five wins apiece in the circle. Johnson ranks second with 66.2 innings or work while Campos has seen 51.1 innings.
