RUSTON, La. - Taylor Brintzenhoff hit her second home run of the season and Bailey Allen struck out seven in her collegiate debut as Louisiana Tech clinched the doubleheader sweep in a 7-0 win over Lyon Wednesday afternoon.

Brintzenhoff's home run - a two-run shot over the left center field wall - added to the 2-0 advantage LA Tech already had over the Scots in the fourth inning. Tech first took the lead in the second inning on a two-run double to left center by Karlee Jensen.

Allen (1-0) made her collegiate debut by striking out seven - including the first two batters she faced - in 4.0 innings pitched, allowing only three hits and no walks. Pauline Tufi (4) was credited with the save after allowing no runs and only two hits while striking out four over the final three innings. The pair combined to not issue a walk in the contest.

Nicole Sanders (2-4) was charged with the loss after allowing all seven runs on 11 hits while walking one and striking out two in five innings in the circle.

Lyon (5-8) twice threatened with two runners aboard and at least one in scoring position but both instances came with two outs and Allen, keeping her cool, forced the final out before a run could come across the plate.

Louisiana Tech now carries a nine-game winning streak into the start of Conference USA play as Florida Atlantic (19-6-1) comes to town for a three-game series scheduled to begin Saturday at 2 p.m. The Owls are currently receiving votes in the top-25 poll.

Overall against Lyon (5-8), Louisiana Tech scored 15 runs on 19 hits and outscored the Scots, 15-0. Tech's pitchers allowed only seven hits in 12 innings pitched with 12 strikeouts and did not issue a walk in the doubleheader.

Louisiana Tech's pitching staff has now not allowed a run in the last 20.2 innings, a span that dates back to the first of two games played on March 1.
