RUSTON - The Louisiana Tech Lady Techster softball team was supposed to open Conference USA play this weekend against WKU in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

However, due to the field conditions in Bowling Green following the winter weather that swept across the country earlier this week, the three-game series has been cancelled and will not be made up.

LA Tech has now seen six games cancelled and two more postponed due to Mother Nature. The Lady Techsters will return home Tuesday to host a pair of games. Tech will host Cleveland State at 1 p.m. (this is a new addition to the schedule) and Lyon College at 6 p.m.

Tech will now open Conference USA action this weekend when it hosts Florida Atlantic Saturday and Sunday. The Lady Techsters are 13-5 on the season, its best start through 18 games since 1994.
