March 9, 2015 RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech heads west for a unique challenge this week as the Bulldogs will face the top-ranked individual in the country at the Lamkin San Diego Classic in a 54-hole tournament beginning Monday.
Washington's Cheng Tsung Pan is ranked No. 1 in the GolfStat rankings while the Huskies are the top-ranked team in the tournament, coming in at No. 17. LA Tech will also be facing No. 24 North Carolina, No. 27 San Diego State and No. 29 New Mexico in the 14-team field.
The Bulldogs enter the tournament ranked No. 95 in the GolfStat rankings, one spot ahead of No. 96 Arizona and three spots ahead of No. 98 Pepperdine, both of which will also be competing in San Diego.
San Diego State is the host team for the Lamkin San Diego Classic with the tournament taking place at the par-72, 7,033-yard course at the San Diego Country Club. Action begins with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. CT/8 a.m. PT Monday.
