Oct. 11, 2016 RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech's Manoah Kiptum has been named Conference USA Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week following his performance at last weekend's Aggieland Open, which was hosted by Texas A&M in College Station.
Kiptum led the way for the Bulldogs Friday with an individual time of 25:01 for a second-place finish out of 50 runners competing in the 8k race. This marks the third consecutive meet Kiptum has led Louisiana Tech runners and his third top five finish of the season. The weekly honor is the first of his career with the Bulldogs.
Both LA Tech's men's and women's cross country teams return to action Friday, Oct. 14 at the Crimson Classic, hosted by Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
