Nov. 2, 2016 RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech seniors Madison Doll and Kathryn Sloan were named to the 2016 Conference USA InTouch Credit Union Women's Soccer All-Academic Teams, announced by the league office today.
This marks the first time the LA Tech soccer team has had multiple players represented on the all-academic first team. This is the third straight year Sloan has been honored while Doll is receiving this award for the first time.
Sloan has a 4.00 grade point average while majoring in Communication Arts and Design. She has been a recipient of the Commissioner's Academic Medal and been named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll each of the last three years.
On the pitch, the striker leads the team in almost every statistical category including total points (24), goals (nine) and assists (six). The Kansas City, Missouri native also has the career program record for points, goals and shots.
Doll has a 3.90 grade point average while majoring in Biology. Like Sloan, she has also been a recipient of the Commissioner's Academic Medal and been named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll each of the last three years.
She has played at defender and forward this season. On the back line, she has been part of seven shutouts and allowed just 1.00 goals scored per game. On offense, the Pearl River, Louisiana native has recorded two goals (both game-winners) and three assists on the season.
The two all-academic teams consisting of 25 student-athletes were voted on the SIDs of the league schools.
