Inside Tech Basketball Returns Monday

Feb. 1, 2016

RUSTON ââ'¬" The Bank of Ruston Inside Tech Basketball radio show returns on Monday night at 6 p.m. at Scott's Catfish on Hwy 33 in Ruston.

Louisiana Tech basketball head coaches Eric Konkol and Tyler Summitt will recap last week's Conference USA action while also previewing upcoming games this week.

The Bulldogs picked up two home wins to boast their league record to 5-3 which puts them in fourth place. Balanced scoring was the difference maker in both victories over UTSA and UTEP as all five starters scored in double figures in each game.

Leading the way on Thursday in the 85-75 win over the Roadrunners was Alex Hamilton who registered his fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and a season-high 11 assists.

On Sunday, it was the St. Petersburg duo of Jacobi Boykins and Dayon Griffin who combined to hit nine three-pointers while scoring 18 and 16 points, respectively.

The Lady Techsters won in dramatic fashion on Thursday with an 82-72 overtime victory at UTSA behind Brandi Wingate's 21 points and career-tying 12 boards.

They then almost pulled off an upset over the C-USA leader UTEP in El Paso, but fell by a score of 86-80. The Techsters remain in fourth place as well in the conference standings.

Both teams will hit the halfway point of league play this week, taking on Rice and North Texas.

The one-hour radio show will air live on the LA Tech Sports Network on ESPN 97.7 FM. The show will feature a half hour segment with Summitt and the Voice of the Lady Techsters Malcolm Butler and a half hour segment with Konkol and the Voice of the Bulldogs Dave Nitz.

LA Tech fans are encouraged to come out to Scott's Catfish and enjoy some great food. The radio show can also be heard via the Internet by purchasing a subscription to LA Tech All-Access on LATechSports.com.

The remaining schedule for this year's show includes: Feb. 8, Feb. 15, Feb. 22, Feb. 29 and March 7.
