HUMBLE, Texas - Louisiana Tech struggled over the final round at the All-American Intercollegiate, carding 14-over-par as a team, as the Bulldogs dropped three spots to finish ninth overall at the Tournament Course of the Golf Club of Houston.
LA Tech finished the three-round, 54-hole tournament one shot shy of eighth-place UTSA but edged McNeese State by one stroke in the 16-team field.
Chuck Spears recorded the best round for Tech for the second consecutive round, firing a 2-over-par 74 to finish tied for 37th overall at 7-over-par (78-71-74=223), matching the final score of teammate Jake Pritchard (74-73-76=223).
Victor Lange was the top finisher for Tech at tied for 18th as he carded a tournament score of 2-over-par (69-74-75=218), finishing Sunday's final round at 3-over-par.
Ben Robinson finished at 11-over-par (77-73-77=227) to tie for 51st while Charles Neel White was tied for 79th at 21-over-par (84-75-78=237).
Louisiana Tech returns to action on March 14-15 when the Bulldogs head to the west coast for the Lamkin San Diego Classic.
