LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Louisiana Tech senior Victor Lange shot a team-best 1-over-par 73 Tuesday and moved up six spots on the individual leaderboard as action concluded at the Little Rock First Tee Classic at Chenal Country Club.
Lange finished tied for seventh overall ââ'¬" just one stroke away from a top-five finish ââ'¬" and was one of only eight players in the tournament to card a 73 or better Tuesday. The senior, ranked No. 188 in the country, finished the 54-hole tournament at 6-over-par (77-72-73=222).
UT-Martin's Hunter Richardson won the individual title in a two-hole playoff against Lipscomb's Eric Ansett after both players finished the regulation 54 holes at 1-under-par. Both players would bogey the first playoff hole before Richardson would par the second.
Overall the Bulldogs finished 11th at 61-over-par (314-297-314=925), one stroke ahead of Conference USA foe Southern Miss. Lipscomb won the team title at 20-over-par 884 with UT-Martin finishing second at 34-over-par 898.
Chuck Spears' round of 79 (+7) was the second-best Bulldog card on the day as he moved up six spots into a tie for 56th overall, finishing the tournament at 20-over-par (236). Ben Robinson tied for 30th overall at 13-over-par (229) after a 10-over-par final round, dropping him 22 spots on the individual leaderboard.
Jacob Wyatt finished tied for 65th at 22-over-par (238) and Jake Pritchard finished tied for 75th at 27-over-par (243) while Hunter Glenn, competing as an individual, finished tied for 69th at 24-over-par (240).
Louisiana Tech returns to the links on April 4-5 at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship hosted by Mississippi State at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.
