@LATechGolf Releases 2016-17 Schedule

RUSTON -- Coming off the program's first conference championships since 1980 and its first NCAA Regional appearance ever, the Louisiana Tech Bulldog golf team is slated to compete in 11 tournaments plus the Conference USA Championships during the 2016-17 campaign.

Head coach Jeff Jenkins and Co. will play in four fall tournaments and seven spring tournaments in preparation for making another run at the C-USA title and postseason play. The C-USA Championship returns to the Texarkana Country Club April 23-26 for the second consecutive year with the league continuing match play for the top four teams following three rounds of stroke play).

The Bulldogs will open the fall season by hosting the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate Sept. 19 and 20 at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant.

Only three days later, the Bulldogs will travel to compete in the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate at Championship Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico hosted by the Lobos on Sept. 23 and 24.

The fall season will culminate with a pair of October tournaments as Tech will compete at the David Toms Intercollegiate at the University Club hosted by LSU on Oct. 8 and 9 and the Duck Commander Intercollegiate at Mystic River Golf Course in El Dorado hosted by UL-Monroe Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

The spring season will start with a trip to the highly competitive Arizona Intercollegiate hosted by the Wildcats at Sewalio Golf Club in Tucson on Jan. 23 and 24. Three weeks later, Tech will tee it up at the three-day All-American Intercollegiate at the Tournament Course at the Golf Club of Houston Feb. 17-19.

Jenkins and the Bulldogs will then travel south to compete at the UL-Lafayette Classic Invitational at Oakborne Country Club Feb. 27 and 28 followed by the Bob Sitton Invitational at TPC Four Seasons in Dallas March 14-16.

The final two tournaments will see Tech traveling to Little Rock to compete in the Little Rock First Tee Classic at Chenal Country Club March 27 and 28 and to West Point, Mississippi to compete at the Old Waverly Championships hosted by Mississippi State at Old Waverly Golf Course April 3 and 4.

As a final tune up for the Conference USA Championships, the Bulldogs will compete in the one day Southern Collegiate Match Play at Hattiesburg Country Club hosted by Southern Miss April 15.
