Sept. 15, 2016 Live Scoring
CHOUDRANT, La. -- Louisiana Tech opens its fall season Monday when the Bulldogs host the 13-team Jim Rivers Intercollegiate at Squire Creek Country Club.
The 54-hole, three-round tournament starts with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Monday as the teams will play two rounds, followed by a single round Tuesday that begins with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
The tournament field includes the host Bulldogs plus Conference USA foes WKU and Southern Miss, in-state programs ULM, Southeastern Louisiana, and New Orleans, as well as Lamar, Stephen F. Austin, Houston Baptist, Abilene Christian, Incarnate Word, Central Arkansas and Missouri State.
This marks the 12th year for the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate -- the first since 2014 -- as head coach Jeff Jenkins and Co. will be attempting to win the event for only the second time. LA Tech captured the team title in 2010.
A Bulldog golfer has won the individual medal at the event twice with Matthew Harvey prevailing in 2007 and Travis Wilmore capturing the title in 2012. In 2014, Victor Lange shot a course record 62 in the final round but lost in a playoff to North Texas' Juan Munoz.
Tech will begin life after Victor Lange as the highly-decorated, record-setting four-year letterman completed his college career last season, leading the Bulldogs to the program's first ever Conference USA championship and team appearance in the NCAA Regionals.
Returning letterwinners Hayden Frederick, Hunter Glenn, Luke Neely, John Lewis Sams, Charles Neel White and Jacob Wyatt will join newcomers Joacim Ahlund, Karsten Green and Felix Palson to form this year's roster.
