ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Louisiana Tech will be among an impressive 16-team field competing this weekend at the 62nd annual William H. Tucker Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico at the UNM Championship Golf Course.

Head coach Jeff Jenkins and Co. join Arizona, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, San Diego, San Diego State, UTEP, UNLV, Washington, Washington State and Wyoming in the two-day, 54-hole event held at the 7,562-yard, par 72 course.

Tech is coming off a seventh place finish at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate held Monday and Tuesday at Squire Creek Golf Course led by freshmen Felix Palson and Joacim Ahlund. Palson and Ahlund will be joined in the Bulldog lineup this week by Hunter Glenn, Luke Neely and Hayden Frederick.

"Monday and Tuesday was a good opening event for us," said Jenkins. "Our young players were able to get some tournament experience, while some of our upperclassmen were able to get a feel for being more of a leader for us. We lost a lot of experience off of last year's (NCAA Regional) team.

"The field we will be competing against this weekend is loaded with some quality teams. We are going to have to really play well. This is the type of competition that you want to test yourself against. At the end of the day, this will be another great learning experience for our team."

Host New Mexico is the four-time defending champions of the event.
