ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- For the second straight tournament, freshman Felix Palson led Louisiana Tech as the Swede shot a three-round total of six-over-par to finish tied for 22nd at the 62nd annual William H. Tucker Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico at the Championship Golf Course.

Palson joined red-shirt junior Luke Neely in shooting final round two-over-par 74's to pace head coach Jeff Jenkins young squad in the event which included a stellar field of 16 teams. The Bulldogs finished 13th.

"I knew this first week of the year -- these first two tournaments -- would be a learning experience for us in so many ways," Jenkins said. "This week we had four guys in our lineup that had never seen this course. I had really hoped for a better outcome but we will learn from this and look forward to our next opportunity to compete in two weeks. "This course was an incredible test, and it is the type of setup our guys must gain experience on. Everyone of our guys benefited from having the chance to compete in this event, and they learned a lot about themselves and their games this week." San Diego State won the event with a 54-hole total of one-under-par 863 followed by Colorado State (873), BYU (878), Washington (879), New Mexico (882), Colorado (882), UNLV (884), UTEP (888), Denver (895), Arizona (897), Washington State (900), Pepperdine (902), LA Tech (913), San Diego (915), Wyoming (919) and New Mexico State (930).

Colorado State's Blake Cannon won the individual title at the event, shooting a three-round total of six-under-par 210 followed by San Diego State's PJ Samiere (212).
