RUSTON ââ'¬" Three Louisiana Tech pitchers combined to toss 13 shutouts innings Saturday as the Lady Techsters defeated Northern Iowa 8-0 in 6 innings and Grambling State 6-0 at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.
Tech (11-4) will complete play in the Lady Techster Classic on Sunday when it hosts McNeese State at 3 p.m.

Bailey Allen picked up her second win of the season in the circle, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings while allowing only three hits and one walk as Tech run-ruled Northern Iowa 8-0 in six innings.
Allen was dominate throughout the game, retiring 14 of the first 15 batters she faced while not allowing a hit until UNI recorded a two-out single in the top of the fifth inning.
While the junior was cruising in the circle, the Lady Techsters offense took advantage of four UNI errors to put the game out of reach. Tech scored a run in the first on an RBI single by Pauline Tufi and then added three more in the fourth ââ'¬" all unearned.
With two out in the fourth, Marilyn Rizzato singled and Jessica Ball walked before Katie Smith hit a routine grounder to the UNI second baseman. However, on the play, the throw was wide of first base, allowing one run to score. Berkley Calapp then followed with a two-run single to right field, plating two more and giving the Lady Techsters a 4-0 lead.
Tech added three more in the fifth. Tufi and Taria Page both singled and Rizzato walked to load the bases. Jessica Ball followed with a two-run single to make the score 6-0. Rizzato would then score on a throwing error to make it 7-0.
The Lady Techsters put the game away with an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh.
LA Tech 6, Grambling State 0
Sophomore Preslee Gallaway recorded a career-high eight strikeouts and Jessica Ball hit an inside-the-park home run to cap a five-run third as Louisiana Tech defeated Grambling State 6-0.
Gallaway (6-2) picked up the win, allowing one hit while striking out eight in just 4.0 innings of action. Freshman Jenny Chapman pitched three scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit while striking out two more.
With Tech leading 1-0 heading into the third inning, the Lady Techsters plated five runs on five hits and one Grambling State error. Natalie Moran led the inning off with a single and one out later, Jazlyn Crowder scored on a error by the GSU third baseman. Tufi then registered an RBI single to make it 3-0.
After Tufi stole second base, Galaz drove her home with a single and Ball followed with an two-run inside-the-park home run to right field, making the score 6-0.
Grambling State would have only one batter reach base over the final four innings.
