NORMAN, Okla. ââ'¬" Mississippi State scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to record a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Louisiana Tech at Marita Hynes Field Friday afternoon.

The Lady Techsters (20-11) took a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the final frame before the Bulldogs (23-8) recorded two doubles and a walk-off game-winning single against LA Tech ace Preslee Gallaway, who came on in relief in the sixth.

It marks the fourth one-run loss to a Power 5 team this by for LA Tech, the third coming in the opponents final at bat. Tech fell to both Texas and Ole Miss in one-run, walk-off losses earlier this season.

Tech was within two outs of recording the win despite being outhit 16-3 in the contest. The Lady Techsters made the most of their three hits and also capitalized on seven walks by MSU pitchers.

The Lady Techsters took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on Jazlyn Crowder's leadoff home run off MSU starter Cassady Knudsen deep over the left field fence. It was Crowder's fifth home run of the season.

However, Tech's lead was short-lived as MSU answered in the bottom of the frame. The Bulldogs recorded one run on four hits off of Tech starter Krystal De La Cruz, who lasted just 1.1 innings before being pulled.

Freshman Jenny Chapman relieved De La Cruz in the second inning after Mississippi State had registered three more hits and taken a 2-1 lead. However, Chapman settled things down in the circle for Tech, tossing 2.1 innings while allowing only two hits while striking out one.

Tech appeared as though it had taken a 3-2 lead in the top of the third inning when Morgan Turkoly hit a deep fly ball to left centerfield. However, Mississippi State centerfielder Amanda Ivy leaped up over the wall and pulled the ball back in for the second out of the inning. Tori Charters, who had walked, was then thrown out trying to steal second as MSU maintained its 2-1 advantage.

Taria Page tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the fourth inning, launching her fourth home run of the year over the right field wall, chasing Knudsen from the game.

Mississippi State regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single off Bailey Allen, who tossed 1.2 innings allowing three hits and two walks while striking out two.

The Lady Techsters responded once again in the top of the sixth. Page walked and Marilyn Rizzato both drew walks and with two outs and runners on second and third, freshman pinch hitter Addison Roark singled through the right side of the infield to plate both runs, giving LA Tech a 4-3 lead. It was only Tech's third hit of the game.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Allen got the first batter out before allowing a single and a walk to put runners on first and second. Gallaway came on in relief and allowed a single to load the bases before getting back-to-back line outs to end the threat.

Gallaway (9-7) took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits in 1.0 inning of work.

Tech returns to action Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against 13th ranked Oklahoma at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
