OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. ââ'¬" Paige Lowary and Paige Parker combined to toss a complete-game two-hitter leading 13th ranked Oklahoma to a 5-1 win over Louisiana Tech Saturday afternoon at Hall of Fame Stadium.

Louisiana Tech (20-12) took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a two-out RBI single by sophomore Taria Page, scoring Jazlyn Crowder who reached base after being hit by a pitch. Tech's lead would be short-lived.

In the bottom of the first inning, Oklahoma (25-7) answered against Tech starter Preslee Gallaway, plating three runs on five hits. Gallaway (9-8) took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in 0.1 innings of action before freshman Jenny Chapman came on in relief.

The Sooners Caliegh Clifton hit a two-run home run to right field off Gallaway and then Sydney Romero single through the left side, chasing Gallaway. Chapman allowed a run scoring double to left centerfield to the first batter she faced before settling down to prevent any more damage.

Chapman pitched a career-high 5.0 innings, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four batters. She kept the score 3-1 until OU plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on a pair of hits, including a solo home run by lead-off batter Nicole Mendes.

Trailing 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Jessica Ball was hit by a pitch, forcing OU to turn to its ace in the circle Parker. Ball was eventually forced out at second on a fielder's choice ground ball by Ali Galaz but with two outs and Galaz on second, Tori Charters singled to centerfield for only the second hit of the game for the Lady Techsters.

However, on the play, Charters attempted to reach second base on the throw into the infield, but was thrown out ending the threat.

Bailey Allen tossed the final inning for Tech, allowing only one hit while striking out one.

Tech returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Stephen F. Austin at 5 p.m. at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.
