March 26, 2017 RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech's golf team will begin the week by competing in the Little Rock First Tee College Classic, which is hosted by the Little Rock Trojans at Chenal Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
The two-day tournament is set to begin Monday morning with 36 holes scheduled on the first day and 18 played on Tuesday to wrap up the 54-hole classic.
LA Tech will compete against an impressive 13-team field, including in-state foe ULM and a Conference USA opponent in the Rice Owls. In addition to the host Trojans, the Bulldogs will also compete against Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, Lamar, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Stephen F. Austin, UT-Martin and UT Arlington.
Senior Charles Neel White will lead a five-man lineup for the Bulldogs that includes Felix Palson, Joacim Ahlund, Karsten Green and Hunter Glenn. John Lewis Sams will also compete as an individual in the Little Rock First Tee College Classic.
The last time LA Tech was in action, the Bulldogs finished in 15th place in the field of 24 at TPC Four Seasons Golf Club in Dallas, Texas. The Bulldogs posted a three-round total of 898 (301, 296, 301) at the par-71 golf course in Dallas, while LA Tech was even in par-3 and par-5 scoring on the week.
