April 2, 2017 RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana Tech golf team is hitting the road to start the week as the Bulldogs prepare to compete in the 2017 Old Waverly Collegiate Championship, which is hosted by Mississippi State at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.
The tournament begins Monday, April 3 and continues through Tuesday, April 4 at the 18-hole, par-72 golf course in West Point. LA Tech will compete in a 16-team field this week that includes fellow Conference USA teams Southern Miss and Rice.
Louisiana Tech's five-man lineup for this week's tournament will include senior Charles Neel White, freshmen Joacim Ahlund, Karsten Green and Felix Palson, and senior John Lewis Sams.
Last week, the Bulldogs closed out the Little Rock First Tee Classic, finishing the two-day tournament in 13th at Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Arkansas. LA Tech compiled a three-round team total of 908 (303, 300, 305) at the 72-par course in Little Rock, while the Bulldogs were led by freshman Felix Palson, who had a three-round total of 221 (74, 73, 74) for the tournament to finish nine shots back of the leader tied for 18th in the college classic.
