TEXARKANA, Ark. - Louisiana Tech is set to return to the Texarkana Country Club this week as defending Conference USA Golf Champions as the Bulldogs will attempt to replicate last year's showing at the 2017 Conference USA Golf Championship.

The championship begins Sunday, April 23 and consists of 54 holes of stroke play on the par 72, 6,969-yard course over the first three days of competition (April 23-25). Following the results of stroke play, the top four teams will advance to a seeded match play round, which will be held on Wednesday, April 26. The team champion after match play will receive C-USA's automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.

Seeding is based on the current Golfstat rankings, making Middle Tennessee this year's top seed. LA Tech enters the championship as the No. 10 seed and will start things off Sunday morning from the 10th hole as the Bulldogs tee off at 8 a.m. CT along with No. 8-seed Southern Miss and No. 9 WKU.

Louisiana Tech will look to be the first team since UCF (2009-11) to repeat as conference champions. Last spring, the Bulldogs received an automatic bid to the NCAA postseason by upsetting No. 38 UAB, 3-2, in the match play finals at the Conference USA Championship. That marked the program's first championship since 1980 and 14th conference championship in school history.

The Bulldogs will enter stroke play with a 5-player lineup consisting of Karsten Green, Hunter Glenn, Joacim Ahlund, Felix Palson and Charles Neel White. In that group, freshman Felix Palson leads the team with a 75.72 stroke average this season in 29 rounds. Not far behind him is senior Charles Neel White, whose stroke average of 75.87 ranks second on the team.
