LAFAYETTE, La. - The Bulldogs had their chances but couldn't come up with the hit when they needed it most, falling to UL-Lafayette 3-1 on Tuesday night in Lafayette.

Raphael Gladu continued to produce atop the Louisiana Tech lineup, reaching base twice in the loss. An infield single in the sixth inning extended his hitting streak to 13 games on the year.

Jonathan Washam had multiple hits in the game for the 14th time this season.

Cody Daigle drove in the Bulldogs only run on an RBI-single down the left field line in the top of the fifth inning. The single scored Jonathan Washam who opened the fifth inning with a double to right center.

LA Tech had a chance to tie or take the lead in the sixth inning with the bases loaded and nobody out, but couldn't push a run across.

On the mound Kyle Griffen tossed two scoreless innings in relief and allowed just one hit while striking out two Cajuns. Casey Sullivan also went scoreless in his outing, tossing 1.1 innings.

ULL plated two runs in the bottom of the fourth but a fantastic diving catch from Parker Bates prevented more runs from scoring.

After the Bulldogs cut the deficit to one, the Cajuns got an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth on a suicide squeeze.

Louisiana Tech was held to less than two runs for the first time this season.

Louisiana Tech will be back in action on Friday night hosting Marshall for a three-game set that kicks off at 6 p.m. All three games of the series will be broadcast on ESPN 97.7 and streamed on CUSA.TV.
