RUSTON, La. – The Louisiana Tech men's cross country team is set to open the 2018 season this Friday, Aug. 31 when the Bulldogs make the trip to Mobile, Alabama, to compete in the South Alabama Challenge of Champions Friday evening.
The season-opening meet is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday night with the men's 5k event, which will be held at Langan Park in Mobile, Alabama.
The Bulldogs have added three newcomers to the 2018 roster in freshmen
Tommy Knippers,
Cooper Krenkels and
Josiah Perez, while eight returners make up the remaining lineup for head coach
Gary Stanley's squad. LA Tech's returners include
Austin Ballow,
John Barham,
Nathan Bolner,
Noah Elder,
Cameron Farris,
Drake Heinz,
Conner Killian and
Mason Youberg.
Following this weekend, Louisiana Tech's men and women cross country squads will compete in two weeks when Tech hosts the program's annual Mook 4 Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Tech Farm in Ruston.
For the second year in a row, the Mook 4 Invitational will mark the season-opener for LA Tech's women, who also welcome the addition of five newcomers to the team in
Bethanie Dunn,
Callie Ezell,
Emery Johnson,
Riley Killian and
Emily Milbourn.
