RUSTON â€" Louisiana Tech senior Nomvula Kgoale was one of 11 players selected to the Conference USA Women's Soccer Preseason Team, announced on Monday in a vote by the league head coaches.

The two-time All-Conference USA honoree returns for her senior year to lead LA Tech into the 2018 season with hopes of qualifying for the league tournament for a fifth straight year.

Last season, Kgoale was a huge part of arguably the greatest season in program history which produced a 14-3-5 overall record, a fourth-place finish in the league standings with 21 points and a C-USA Tournament semifinal appearance.

The Polokwane, South Africa native netted the game-tying goal in the quarterfinals versus Old Dominion, helping the Lady Techsters register its first tourney win in program history.

The multi-dimensional player recorded 15 points last year with six goals and three assists. On top of being named First Team All-Conference USA, she also received Second Team All-South Region, First Team All-Louisiana and was a member of the C-USA All-Tournament Team.

She is one of seven starters returning for LA Tech who was picked to finish seventh (out of 14) in the preseason poll, the same as last year.

The squad reported to fall camp on Saturday, Aug. 4 and underwent fitness testing that afternoon. It was followed by a light practice and then a full morning practice on Sunday morning.

The 2018 season kicks off on Aug. 17 at home versus Texas State.
