2018-19 Bowling Schedule
Â
"I am very excited for this upcoming season," Nantais remarked. "I feel this season's schedule is very competitive and will help us in making strides in getting to the national championships. I believe this is going to be a breakout year for us. With three returning members, we will be adding four new members to the team who are no strangers to competition. With our first tournament only 38 days away, we have a lot of work to get ready, but we are ready to continue improving from last year's success."
Â
The Lady Techsters will begin their 2018-19 slate in Harahan, Louisiana, at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Bowling Invitational on October 19-21. Last season, Tech finished fourth among 14 teams in the tournament field.
Â
Following its only tournament in October, Tech will start a busy month of November, taking part in three tournaments across 30 days.
Â
Leading if the month, Tech will return to action in Houston, Texas, at the annual Track Kat Klash running the weekend of November 2-4, hosted by Sam Houston State. Last season, Tech knocked off six ranked foes at the highly competitive tournament, while seeing then freshman
Kaitlyn Eder earn all-tournament accolades.
Â
Following the Track Kat Klash, the Lady Techsters jump back into action the following weekend (Nov. 9-11) at the JSU Sonic Boom Invitational in Jackson, Miss. Last season, Tech dominated this tournament, striking for a team championship, while seeing
Sarah McComick (Tournament MVP),
Kendall Hickman and
Ashley Channell named to the all-tournament team.
Â
Five days later, the team will hit the road for Montgomery, Ala., taking part in the Hornets Classic on Nov. 16-18. In 2017-18, Tech notched yet another top-five team finish, ending up fourth in the classic, while Eder again earned all-tournament recognition.
Â
Turning the calendar into 2019, Tech will take part in two tournaments in the month of January: first competing in the Mid-Winter Invitational, hosted by Arkansas State (Jan. 11-13) followed by the Rattlers Invitational, hosted by Florida A&M (Jan. 25-27).
Â
USBC Sectionals qualifying will take place the weekend of March 8-10, and then Tech will return as a team to compete in the Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tenn., hosted by Vanderbilt on March 15-17, concluding the regular season.
Â
Postseason action will begin on March 22-24 at the Southland Conference Championship (March 22-24), followed by the NCAA Championships (April 11-13) and USBC, ITC & ISC Championships (April 15-20).
