LA Tech Golf Announces Signing of Will Patrick

RUSTON, La. (Nov. 14, 2019) – Louisiana Tech head golf coach Matt Terry announced the signing of Will Patrick on Wednesday, the first day of the signing period.

Patrick comes to Ruston from Oneonta High School in Oneonta, Alabama, where he earned six letters in golf over his highly successful high school career.

He was named an Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) All Star and an AGA Am medalist in qualifiers for both 2018 and 2019.

Patrick was the AHSAA State Championship individual runner up in class 4A in 2019. He also fired a two-under 70 in the 103rd Alabama State Amateur Championship Sectional Qualifying round, earning him co-medalist honors.

"We're extremely excited to announce the addition of Will to our program," head coach Matt terry remarked.  In addition to him being a super talented golfer, he's a really exceptional student and just a quality individual. We can't wait to get him on campus and see what he brings to our team."

Patrick selected Louisiana Tech over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Jacksonville State and North Alabama.

"I developed a really strong relationship with Coach Terry throughout the recruiting process," said Patrick. "That just increased my interest in the program. The program's home course in Squire Creek and the warm atmosphere in Ruston helped finalize my decision."

Patrick comes from a background of athletes playing at the next level. His father, Steve Patrick, played football collegiately at Jacksonville State from 1985-89.

Patrick joins Bulldogs Mac & Sam Murphy (Decatur) and Hunter Battles (Muscle Shoals) along with head coach Matt Terry (Moulton) as Alabama natives.
