NEW ORLEANS – Both the Louisiana Tech men's and women's track and field squads were recognized for their work in the classroom on Monday afternoon, as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2019 All-Academic Team honors.

The LA Tech women's team finished the 2018-19 campaign with a cumulative 3.35 GPA, while the men posted a 3.11 combined mark in the classroom.
Across the country there were 366 total teams honored by the USTFCCCA for their academics. The Tech men's team was one of 139 programs in the nation, while the women's team represented among 227 total programs.
Both the men's and women's teams also saw an improvement in their single-year APR rates as LA Tech registered its highest ever multi-year average (968.2) and highest ever single-year average (975.6) after the NCAA released its Academic Progress Rates back in May.
