RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech Tennis team will participate in five tournaments as part of the 2019 fall schedule, announced by fourth-year head coach
Amanda Stone on Thursday.
Â
This has the potential to be Stone's deepest team as LA Tech returns six players –
Ana Jover,
Nadja Manjon,
Claudia Oravcova,
Andrea Perez-Lopez,
Alana Sherman and
Ilana Tetruashvili – off last year's roster. Also competing this fall will be three newcomers –
Alexia Romero,
Rikona Murakami and Madiosn Cefalu.
Â
"I'm really looking forward to this fall season," said Stone. "After the injuries and being short on players for most of last season, we are ready for a fresh, healthy start. It's going to be nice to see Alana and Nadja back in action and see how our new players handle the transition to college tennis.Â
Â
"As for our core returners who carried us last year, I'm looking forward to seeing them build on that toughness and grit they developed last spring."
Â
The Lady Techsters will open up the fall slate at the Central Arkansas Fall Invitational in Conway, Arkansas on Sept. 26-28. The following weekend, LA Tech will travel south to take part in the Ragin' Cajun Invitational in Lafayette on Oct. 4-5.
Â
Next on the schedule is a trip to Baton Rouge to compete in the annual ITA Southern Regionals, hosted by LSU on Oct. 17-22.Â
Â
On the first weekend of November, LA Tech will participate in the Lady Jacks Invitational in Nacogdoches, Texas on Nov. 1-3. The fall schedule rounds out on Nov. 15-17 in Destin, Florida at the TOPS'L Invitational.
