RUSTON – Louisiana Tech tennis head coach Amanda Stone announced on Monday the signing of Leonie Schuknecht to a National Letter of Intent.
 
Schuknecht is a 5-foot-9-inch right-hander from Bottrop, Germany who joins Anastasiia Salenko as part of the 2021 recruiting class.
 
"We are thrilled to have Leonie join us next fall," said Stone.  "She's a top junior in her age group and has a high open ranking as well.  I love how motivated and competitive she is.  She and Anastasiia will both have an immediate impact in our lineup."
 
Schuknecht was part of the West German U18 championship team in 2019, the highest junior league in Germany. 
 
She has been ranked as high as No. 30 in Germany for U18 junior players and as high as No. 164 for all women's tennis players in the country.
